Damned if he does and damned if he doesnt...
Allardyce can't win can he?

The fact is that two individual player errors cost us the Spurs game.

Subsitutions and tactics can be debated but arguing that these reasons cost us 3 points is hypothetical.

As someone previous posted, if every tactical change and substitution of the season were all spot on and correct then we would be sitting top of the league. Because they can only be justified as correct if we win.

If he leaves Noble on the pitch and he gets sent off and we lose the game you would be slaughtering Allardyce for not making the change.

Same goes if he makes any change and brings on Nolan.

He could have gone top heavy, gung ho, bulked up the midfield or threw on every defender to defend for their lives. But whatever the choice, if it cost us the game then you would all be pointing the finger.

The fact is you don't like him, so he can't win regardless.

The fact is we were terribly unlucky and with a little luck we could easily be parading the scalps of Man Utd and Spurs. We could also easily have not lost to WBA if we had got some transfers over the line in January (Diarra, Mbodj & Adebayor) as we wouldn't have had to play a make shift defence or play Noble and Nolan. It would also have boosted and energised the squad after having 3 games in 6 days.

Football is all about fine margins but when you look at an overall picture of over 3 seasons nobody can say he hasn't done a great job.

If he goes in the summer then he goes but until then, quit your moaning and get behind him. All this negativity only disrupts the players and the club. So get behind the Manager at least until the summer to show some support for the team and club that you all claim that you love.

Irons.

I know. It seems some fans are too. I'm eagerly awaiting their justification.

I'm still waiting to find out why when we lose it's down to " Lady Luck" but when we win it's down to Sams tatical genius.

Not a wholly convincing argument, Sesar.

Sam has done what was asked in the circumstances so fair play to that. There comes a time when you have to ask what is required for the future and I don't see any evidence that says that is Sam.

In all his managerial carer spanning over 20 years his CV shows that all he has won is the 3rd Division in 1998 (plus a couple of promotions through the play-offs). It is the CV of a survivor rather than a winner.

The end of his contract is the perfect time to upgrade to someone better who can be bring a more forward looking approach to the club.

Seasar , I just want him to stop starting with Nolan. Surely everyone wants that. If that happens he would be slightly more accepted.

Sam is the best manager we have had in the last 20 years at least

Anybody who wants him out is an idiot

Fact is we are on course for our highest league finish since 2002 and we see fans in there masses screaming for his head.

I would like to see him in charge next season. People just have to get over his arrogance and see that on the pitch we are looking much better. I personally think he will be shown the door and his loyalty to the likes of Nolan and Carroll will be his ultimate downfall. Now our midfield is back to it's best finally maybe we will see what we was seeing at the start of the season.

Oh no people are warming to fat Sam

The big problem is he signs a new contract say 2 year, every time we lose the boo boys will be on his back....

It's not going to work

Also Henry is banned from training ground, you can't have a manger - director of recruitment relationship like that

I think a new man will come in who is a coach more than manager

1 win in 9, down from 3rd to 8th and disgraced in the FA Cup. How long can you live off a good first half of the season for?

Re: Damned if he does and damned if he doesnt...
Not really helpful at all Gentile but you knew that.

So what you're saying is that Tony Henry and David Sullivan had nothing to do with all the suddenly successful signings then?

That we employ a Director of Recruitment and then have our most successful period of signings by the man that previously bought Nolan, Maiga, Diarra, Jarvis and Carroll...

Hhhhmmmbullshit!

HENRY TO BE NAMED AS DIRECTOR OF RECRUITMENT
By Sean Whetstone 27 May 2014 at 18:53 68 comments

Everton’s chief scout Tony Henry is poised to be named as West Ham’s new Director of recruitment. Henry has overseen player recruitment at Goodison Park in recent times as they have moved to a stylish brand of football under Roberto Martinez. Henry used to work as an agent with Paul Stretford’s Formation Group and helped Super agent Jorge Mendes to establish links in England. Jorge Mendes represents Cristiano Ronaldo so who knows what targets he could have lined up for his good mate Tony Henry if he comes to East London.

Absolute shit as usual Gentile.

We basically have about 13 players, we've had stronger in the past.

We have the best squad of players since 85/6 and apart from Sahko all BFS signings.

He definitely won't accept one year - his arrogance and vanity won't let him. In fact he'll consider it an insult, after how far he thinks ''he's'' brought the club. They could offer him two year's money on a one year deal and he wouldn't accept. He's that sort of cunt.

I don't want SA because he plays a very poor style of football, shows favouritism to a few players (ahhhhmmm Carroll and NoIlan!) and is shit at signing decent p[layers.

But yes I can see why the fans that are lacking in ambition, would stick with an arrogant dinosaur that divides the club and cares not a jot about quality of entertainment for fans.

Re: Damned if he does and damned if he doesnt...

The most sensible post on this thread. You just don't know who maybe available when he move into the OS.

First hurdle though to overcome is to improve on this season and make sure we are a premier league club when we go there. Anything else will be a total utter disaster. Give him another year.

My understanding of it is though he wants a four year deal and S&G wont commit to that.

Re: Damned if he does and damned if he doesnt...
Our midfield is back to its best - yes, in spite of the manager. FFS wake up and smell the coffee, you contradict yourself. On the one hand you reckon we've never had it so good, then you point out exactly why it's all wrong.

Let's see where we end up before we do the 'its the best season since ...' blx. If, and its a big if we recover form we would hold up mid to upper table. I don't trust him though, and not because I don't like him, because he is volatile, sub intelligent and one dimensional. His football is doing the talking and I don't see any improvement or learning from him as a player or manager. He runs the team like its Preston in the 3rd division from the 70's.
